I am a physicist from Barcelona (Spain) currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Bio-Complexity group at the Niels Bohr Institute. I work in an interdisciplinary field where biological systems are explored using principles and methods from physics. Specifically, my research focuses on the investigation of three-dimensional bacterial communities, with the goal of understanding mechanisms behind phenomena such as antibiotic resistance and horizontal gene transfer. To achieve this, I conduct experiments in a microbiology lab, where the cells are grown and imaged using advanced-microscopy techniques. Through the analysis of experimental data, I develop mathematical models to describe the key features of these populations.
