Rikke Egeberg Tankard (she/her) is a Ph.D. student in the physics department at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), working on the production and characterization of clusters and nanoparticles for the conversion of sustainable energy. She spends most of her time in different labs full of Ultra-high Vacuum equipment, and her projects involve a great deal of collaboration with chemists. Her focus is creating model systems at the nanoscale and using scanning probe microscopy techniques to understand how the structure and substrate interaction of particles can affect their catalytic properties. Rikke hopes her work can help improve the understanding of how to make new catalyst designs for a more sustainable future.
