Bernadette Rosati is a postdoctoral researcher at Aarhus University. Her research is centered on atmospheric aerosols – tiny airborne particles with huge impacts on climate and air quality. She is particularly interested in how these particles interact with solar radiation, how their interaction with light can be used to uncover their physical and chemical properties and to investigate microphysical properties of clouds. She finds marine particles, emitted through wave-breaking over the oceans, incredibly fascinating and chose them as the major topic of her recent research. Their complexity including large quantities of salts but also organic species and microorganisms allows for a multitude of different interactions with sunlight and clouds. As a trained physicist, she enjoys tackling the nowadays atmospheric challenges with an interdisciplinary group of scientists that is essential in this field.
The prize committee will select a winner, who will be announced at an award ceremony at the KIF Annual Meeting on November 16th, 2022 taking place at Hotel Nyborg Strand, Østerøvej 2, 5800 Nyborg.
The winner will be notified in writing in advance and invited to give a talk following the ceremony.
