Lise Meitner – Her Life and the Discovery of Fission

Kvinder i Fysik and Niels Bohr Archive are thrilled to announce a special public talk about the life and research of Lise Meitner!

Everyone is invited to attend.

Come learn more about this important scientist who, together with Otto Hahn, Fritz Strassmann and Otto Frisch, discovered nuclear fission in 1938. Lise Meitner was nominated 30 times for the Nobel Prize in physics and 19 times for the Nobel Prize in chemistry, but did not share the 1944 chemistry prize when it was awarded to Otto Hahn for nuclear fission.

The presentation will be given by Anthea Coster, Assitant Director and Principal Research Scientist at MIT Haystack Observatory.
